Connect your NZ bank accounts. SortMe categorises every transaction and Pro lets you flag the deductible ones as they happen. Takes two minutes to set up.
When a business expense lands on any account (joint, personal, or business), tap it, assign it to the right entity, and attach the receipt. Twenty minutes of effort spread across the whole year.
Hit Export accountant pack. Get a clean ZIP with income, expenses and every receipt attached. Forward to your accountant. Done.

I have already recommended you! I've been made to feel comfortable, and welcome. There is no judgement! The website is informative and easy to navigate. You make it seem like financial freedom is possible!
Easy to navigate. Easy visuals to track spends and proportion of income on spends. Particularly like the recurring transactions feature.
My go-to for financial management, streamlining the chaos of multiple apps. It's an invaluable tool, simplifying the process with useful features like net worth, transactions, and goal setting. Now, I can easily track my financial health, contributing not just to financial clarity but also improving my overall well-being.
SortMe has done all the thinking behind what I need to set up a realistic budget, have oversight into my financial position, and make positive financial steps. I love the tips for saving it gives based on my spending - the random subscriptions that I didn’t want but hadn’t been able to quite nail down have been nailed down and cancelled! Super user-friendly. Highly recommend SortMe.
SortMe is the perfect solution for taking control of my finances. Many useful features (bank connection, automatic categorisation, budgeting, net worth, etc) that really tick the boxes of everything I could want from personal finance software. Finally found an upgrade from the homemade Excel spreadsheet!
I wish I had this software years ago, it is dramatically changed my approach to spending. A game changer for me! Super easy to use and data presented in a meaningful way that keeps you motivated and not to spend too much!
Very easy to use platform - much nicer UX than other 'budgeting'/'tracking' software I've used previously. Swift replies from Customer Support (or directly from the CTO!) with any queries. Loving the daily update for keeping me in the know with money in and out.
I found a $780 transaction that I had forgot to expense back to the company. SortMe has already paid itself back may times. Brilliant.
SortMe is a great tool to help you understand where your money goes. It is more comprehensive than some paid tools on the market and easier to use.
SortMe is a fantastic way to manage your finances. A solid 9/10 so far in terms of everything I’d hope for. I found it very seamless and a lot less convoluted than other apps out there.
Before we found SortMe, we found it overwhelming trying to manage the various accounts between us. We could never quite figure out where our money was going. As soon as we signed up to SortMe, that changed instantly. We could see exactly what we were spending and where we needed to pull back. Amazing tool. Highly recommend.
SortMe has helped us find and cancel app subscriptions we didn't need. Saving us over $2,000 per year. It's so worth it.

SortMe is one app for your whole financial life. Your personal cashflow across every bank account on one side, every business, rental and trust you run on the other. The headache it solves is the cross-over: the business expense you paid on the joint credit card, the rental fix paid from the personal everyday account, the Etsy stock on your personal Amex. Through the year, you tap any business transaction on any account and assign it to the right entity. Receipts attach themselves to the matching line. By the time 31 March lands, the accountant pack is effectively already built. You click Export on 1 April, the ZIP arrives in seconds, and the file goes to your accountant before lunch.

Q: When is end of financial year in New Zealand?
A: The NZ tax year runs from 1 April to 31 March. 31 March is end of financial year (also called end of tax year). Anyone earning non-PAYE income files an IR3 covering the year that just closed.
Q: What does my accountant need from me at EOFY?
A: A summary of income by source, deductible expenses by category, and receipts that back them up. Pro builds all of that into one ZIP. Forward and you're done.
Q: Is the deadline 31 March or 7 July?
A: 31 March is the end of the tax year. 7 July is the IR3 filing deadline if you do it yourself. If you have a registered tax agent, the filing deadline shifts to 31 March the following year.
Q: Can SortMe Pro file my tax return for me?
A: No. Pro builds the data your accountant needs to file. We aren't a tax agent. We get you and your accountant to the finish line faster, but the IR3 itself is filed by you or them in myIR.
Q: Does the accountant pack work with Xero or MYOB?
A: Yes. The pack includes a transaction register in CSV format that imports cleanly into Xero, MYOB, or any spreadsheet. The receipts come as PDFs attached to the right line.
Q: What happens if I miss the 7 July deadline?
A: The IRD charges late-filing fees and may apply penalties on tax owing. If you've registered with a tax agent before the deadline, your filing date shifts to 31 March the following year. Either way, having your numbers ready before 7 July is the cheap option.
