Your money, in one place
Connect every account in about 10 minutes
Every connection runs through Akahu, New Zealand's open finance provider — SortMe never connects directly to your bank. For most banks Akahu uses an official open banking API, so you approve the connection inside your own banking app. That covers all the major NZ banks, plus KiwiSaver balances, Sharesies, Kernel and other investment providers, mortgage accounts (auto-detected), and foreign-currency accounts converted to NZD on the fly. CSV import covers the rest.
- Read-only access. SortMe can never move your money.
- Mortgage smart auto-detection, with fixed-rate expiry alerts.
- Foreign-currency accounts auto-convert to NZD.

Budgeting
Budgets that match how you're paid
SortMe budgeting is pay-cycle native: weekly, fortnightly or monthly, whatever your household runs on. Group categories into "Household Essentials" and "Lifestyle Spending", set one cap for a whole group, budget for one-offs, and offset irregular income. At the end of each pay cycle, a Budget Cycle Review tells you what happened and what to tweak.

Know where it went, without doing the filing
Spend Overview categorises every transaction automatically, with AI picking up whatever the rules miss, including IRD income. Filter by bank account, tag in bulk, add notes and attachments, see the next two weeks of upcoming transactions, and let transfer detection keep internal shuffles out of your spending totals. When your accountant asks, export a CSV that keeps categories and tags intact — CSV export is a SortMe Pro feature.

Subscriptions
Every subscription, found and itemised
SortMe's AI finds your real subscriptions, including the ones you forgot in 2023, and filters out the look-alikes (an Afterpay instalment isn't a subscription, and SortMe knows it). See the total per month, per year, and per "wait, we still pay for that?"

See tight months before they arrive
The Cashflow Forecast projects 6 to 12 months ahead from your real income and spending, including variable income. Add one-off future expenses (the reno, the trip, the tax bill), track your Cashflow Health Score, and read the AI summary that names the months worth keeping an eye on.

Growth
Net worth, mortgage, KiwiSaver and investments on one screen
The Growth tab is the whole-household scoreboard: what you own and what you owe, split out by type rather than blended into one figure. Mortgage balance, KiwiSaver, Sharesies, Kernel and other investments, cash and property — each tracked separately, so you can watch the graph climb over time.

Every policy in one place, not buried in your inbox
Protection is the register for your insurances. Upload every policy you hold, from life and income protection to health, house and contents, and SortMe keeps the provider, the cover and the renewal date against each one, with an alert before anything expires. That way you're not searching three years of email for a policy number on the day you need it.
SortMe reads the rest of your money too, and surfaces where cover is thin or missing: an income nobody could replace, a policy that lapsed when a card expired, a risk you've carried since before the kids arrived. When you want to talk one through, we introduce you to a licensed adviser with your context already in hand. SortMe surfaces the gaps and makes the introduction; the regulated advice comes from the adviser.

-
Which subscriptions crept up this year? - Four did. Netflix went $19.99 to $25.99, Spotify $17.99 to $21.99, and two gym memberships renewed at a higher rate. Together that’s $126 a month more than last January.
-
What did we spend on the kids’ activities last quarter? - $2,140 across swimming, football subs and music lessons. That’s up 18% on the quarter before, mostly the term fees landing in one week.
