Protection
Track every insurance policy, never miss a renewal
Life, income, health, trauma, house, contents. Most Kiwi households are paying for cover they arranged years ago and couldn’t describe today. SortMe keeps every policy in one place, tells you before anything renews, and flags the things worth a conversation with a licensed adviser.

The register
Every policy in one place, finally
Add each policy once and upload the documents alongside it. That’s it. No more digging through email for a PDF from 2019, and no more “I think it’s about $200 a month?” when someone asks what you’re paying for cover.
Your accounts are already connected, so SortMe can also show you what’s leaving your bank for insurance each month.
- Life, income protection, trauma, health, house, contents, vehicle and business, all in one view.
- Documents attached to each policy, so the paperwork is where the policy is.
- Total cost of protection per month and per year, in a single number.

Renewals
Nothing lapses unnoticed
SortMe tells you before a policy renews or expires, so a renewal is a decision rather than a direct debit you notice three months later. Premiums drift upward, and most people discover it years after it started. You’ll see the increase when it happens, not when you finally go looking.
- Renewal and expiry alerts ahead of the date.
- Premium changes visible against what you were paying before.
- Sits beside your Cashflow Forecast, so annual premiums stop being nasty surprises in the tight months.
Risk signals
The things worth a conversation
SortMe already knows the shape of your household: mortgage, income, dependants, KiwiSaver, business entities, what you’ve told it about your cover. When something in that picture looks like it’s worth a second look, a recommendation says so, in plain language, with no scare tactics and nothing to buy.
-
A mortgage on the books with no life cover recorded anywhere.
-
Income doing the heavy lifting for the household, with no income protection listed.
-
A sole trader or contractor setup, where there’s no employer sick leave behind you.
-
Cover that hasn’t been reviewed since before the kids, the house, or the business.
-
Two policies that look like they might overlap, so you may be paying for the same cover twice.
What SortMe won’t do
Tell you how much cover you need, recommend an insurer or a product, or suggest you’re under-insured. Those are regulated financial advice, and SortMe isn’t a financial adviser. What it does is notice the gap and offer you a conversation with someone who is licensed to answer.
Card expiry
Your card expires before your policy does
Premiums usually come off a credit or debit card, and every card expires every few years. When it does the payment fails, and after a couple of missed attempts the insurer cancels the policy. Most households find out at the worst possible moment, which is when they go to claim.
SortMe knows which card each premium is paid from, so it tells you before the expiry date lands rather than after the cover has gone. Updating the card takes a minute; replacing a policy you have held for eight years can mean new medical underwriting and a higher premium.
Worth a conversation
There's a mortgage on the books and no life cover recorded in your register.
An observation, not a verdict. A licensed adviser can tell you whether it matters for your situation.

Nothing from your SortMe account is shared unless you choose to share it.
The handoff
And then a real human, if you want one
When a card flags something you’d like to talk through, we’ll introduce you to a licensed adviser from our vetted NZ network, free, no obligation, no call centre. You decide whether they see any of your SortMe data before the conversation; nothing is shared unless you say so. If the answer turns out to be “you’re fine as you are”, that’s a perfectly good outcome and it costs you nothing to find out.
Protection is one part of the picture
Your cover only makes sense next to everything else: what you own, what you owe, and what your household spends. That’s why Protection lives beside Growth and your Cashflow Forecast rather than in an app of its own. One connected picture, one place to look.
